NHS Dental Services . You will be able to have all treatment provided under the NHS that your dentist feels is clinically necessary in order to keep your mouth, teeth and gums healthy. The charge you pay depends on the treatment you receive. You will only ever be asked to pay one charge for each course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it. Unless you are exempt from charges you should pay one of the following charges for each course of treatment you receive: Band 1 - £22.70 This covers an examination, diagnosis (e.g. X-rays), advice on how to prevent future problems, a scale and polish if needed and application of fluoride varnish or fissure sealants. If you require urgent care, even if your urgent treatment needs more than one appointment to complete, you will only need to pay one Band 1 charge. Band 2 - £62.10 This covers everything listed in Band 1 plus any further treatment such as fillings, root canal work or if your dentist needs to take out one or more of your teeth. Band 3 - £269.30 This covers everything listed in Bands 1 and 2 plus crowns or dentures 14/04/2020 A ministerial decision froze dental patient charges at 2019-20 levels for six months. Usually the fees are adjusted for April 1st each year. The decision was made in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current NHS dental charges will remain the same until 30 September 2020. A decision on what happens beyond the six months is due later in the year. |
Private treatmentA number of cosmetic treaments are offered at the practice to compliment your care these include tooth whitening, tooth coloured fillings and veneers. We work closely with specialists to provide orthodontics (including invisalign) and dental implants.
